Solicitors are the “Law Experts” and the professionals who practice Law. Barristers work at a higher level than a solicitor. Normally Solicitor is a law expert supposed to draft the legal memos and legal documents while Barristers are more to appear in courts. Barristers also have to wear wigs and gowns. Barristers are also always considered as having knowledge higher than Solicitors. Solicitors can also appear in courts but Barristers are the specialist of Law, who is more to appear in court than solicitors. Barristers are for the complicated Law, for the cases serious in nature and bigger in nature.

A Solicitor is a Practitioner:   

An experienced, licensed and professional law practitioner who is permitted to practice law. He helps in drafting legal documentation, he helps in offering legal representation, and he helps in representing the plaintiff and defending the defendants. He helps in providing legal counselling, he helps in saving the client’s interest. Solicitors help the common person of the society, small businesses, medium level businesses, big enterprises, government sector, semi-government sectors, private sectors etc.

Solicitors a kind of private mediator, who resolves the disputes between two parties or more than one party. It is also called Contentious Legal Work. It involves drafting settlement agreements, arranging meetings between two parties, try to resolve the matter outside the court amicably. Private Practice:

Solicitors can practice privately but they must be licensed and permitted to practice law. Solicitors can work with different organizations as a business solicitor. Much larger level organizations have to hire a legal counsellor to establish the department, where solicitors or solicitors are required. This is a private job of a solicitor.

Law Firm Practice:

Solicitors can work for law firms as their employees. Once again, he has to be authorized, licensed and permitted to practice law. They can help in drafting the court papers, and legal documents and if required they can also appear in court.

Law Firm Business:

Law Firm is a serious business if done by the experts. Just to be a licensed solicitor is not enough to open a Law Company and run a Law Company.

Regulation:

In the United Kingdom, Solicitors Regulation Authority is responsible to regulate solicitors and law firms. Even the same authority has to regulate the non-legal professionals in Law Offices. Check as per your country about the Solicitors regulation.
