Extension in Maternity Leaves up to 90 Days in Abu Dhabi. ABU DHABI government takes a landmark initiative, in which a few sectors introduce the 90 days maternity leave plan in ABU DHABI. Article 19, Federal Decree Law No. 49 of 2022 states that, a female employee having a permanent position in an organization/department is entitled to a maternity leave of three months. She will be paid a full salary during these 3 months.

Once she resumes her work, then she is also entitled for two hours daily leave. This leave is for first year after the time period of delivering the baby, to nurse her KID. After 6 months of resuming the work, female employee is entitled for two hours to be reduced in her working hours. These two hours can be the start of day or end of the day. Job Safety: Employer has to assure the job security. Employer can’t terminate the employee on her maternity leave. It will be considered as breach of Law.
