A landmark initiative is taken by the Ajman government to provide strength to the financial system in AJMAN and to regulate the dispute resolution system in the Emirate of Ajman. HH SH Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the ruler of Ajman issues new Emiri Decree # 4 of 2024, for the purpose of establishing the Ajman Arbitration Center. The aim is to offer alternative dispute resolution services to the business community in Ajman, so they could operate without hurdles and their disputes could be resolved asap. Previously it was working as the Ajman Center for Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration under the Ajman Chamber of Commerce, where it was fully recognized as a dispute resolution body. Now the new decree makes it a fully independent authority for dispute resolution. It is a wonderful initiative for the businesses and business communities in the Emirate of Ajman.

The benefit of this new decree is to provide strength to arbitration and dispute resolution in Ajman to cope with modern financial challenges. Through the decree, a board of trustees is also established for this arbitration center. This trustee board consists of a chairman, vice chairman and 7 other expert members who have expertise in law and arbitration. They must know about arbitration and law up to a very senior level. This board has the tools to improve and approve the policies. The board has to set the work plan and send it to council for the final approval. The board and General Secretary have to make sure that the arbitration center is working as an independent entity in alternative dispute resolution. There will be no involvement of the board and general secretary regarding decisions.

Emirate of Ajman has a plan to establish an arbitration center which leads all others in the region. It will help Ajman to welcome more businesses in Ajman due to its supportive financial policies.
