UAE Labour Law 2022

UAE Labour Law underwent a major revision in 2022, and it was implemented from the same year, February 2022. FAQ’S

Federal Decree Law No 20 of 2023 amends specific provisions in Federal Decree Law No 33 of 2021. The new labour and employment law became effective on 2nd February 2022.

Ministry of Human Resource and Emiratization is responsible to manage initial complaints. Initial complaints are lodged there and referred to competent court if there could be no settlement between complainant and defendant.

Labour Law UAE also prohibits employment discrimination, injustice and pressure employment on the basis of gender, tribe, sex, nationality religion, or disability.

Employer has to cancel the employment VISA within

Labour Court Fee is 5% of the claim amount and maximum AED 20000. It applies once the claim amount reaches AED 100000 or above.

When claim amount goes beyond AED 50000. Appeal Court provides more accurate and better court investigations and another opportunity to either party, to prove their narrative in appeal court.

  • A wage of 21 days for first 5 years.
