June 8, 2023

Muslim men can marry other Muslim women, but a few conditions need to be met. The first thing is the approval of the Bride. Permission from the bride is required. One person, either husband or wife, needs to have a residence VISA inthe  United Arab Emirates, in any Emirate.

Pre-Marital Screening is required, and this is a must. Muslim Marriage in the UAE is not allowed without this Pre-Marriage Medical test. The marriage Contract is always registered. It is registered in the Sharia Court. Men and Women under 18 years of age are not allowed to get married.

But if there are certain conditions or needs, then special permission needs to be taken from the judge. Two Muslim witnesses are required, and the father of the bride, for the marriage. Permission from the father or guardian is mandatory for a Muslim bride. When a divorced or widowed Muslim lady has to arrange the divorce certificate or the widow certificate.

If the father or guardian is not alive or available, then the embassy has to issue a No Objection Certificate. The bride can enter into a special contract with the groom, which is called a Pre-Nuptial agreement as well. The children’s rights can’t be waived. The groom can’t add any term to the contract which is against the children’s rights in future for his upbringing, alimony, etc. MAHAR amount is the right of the bride, she can take it anytime.
