Here we are going to discuss the types of Lawyers or Advocates. These are the common types, all over the world. Readers might not find this quite elaborative and in detail, but at least it will help to grab the idea about the different types of Advocates and Lawyers.

  1. Business Lawyers 

These lawyers are also called Corporate Lawyers. These advocates are expected to deal with legal matters which do belong to the business and corporate sectors. He has to deal with all the documentation and court cases. Any kind of legal advice and legal services, are, to be managed by these business lawyers. The legal advice is all about investments, mergers, acquisitions, bankruptcy, intellectual properties, drafting of documents, checking contracts etc. These lawyers have to deal with all the commercial aspects. Bankruptcy means filing bankruptcy and this is not an easy task. Therefore, these Business Lawyers have to be Bankruptcy Lawyers with bankruptcy expertise.

  1. Constitutional Lawyers

Constitutional Lawyers are the lawyers who deal with the Constitution and its implementations. These lawyers have to deal with the government and its operations. Constitution is made by the government for the government/country therefore there is no direct interest of private entities in it. These are the top Advocates and Legal Consultants, who work for government bodies. These lawyers are also mandatory to work in government entities for a certain number of years.

Criminal Defense Lawyers are legal experts who, deal with criminal cases. These Lawyers are experts in handling police complaints, public prosecution cases as well as Criminal Court Cases. There are three court levels and these advocates have to be expert for all these three court levels. In UAE, just UAE National Lawyers can appear in Courts. Labour and Employment Lawyers, are the most demanded and discussed lawyers in the United Arab Emirates. One of the reasons is that most people are expatriates from other countries for a good employment career or a corporate career. An employment Career means the service sector and the corporate career means business opportunities. These Labour and Employment Lawyers, have multiple tasks like drafting the contracts, reviewing the OLD contracts, checking, and internal contracts etc, to perform. UAE does not allow Unions in business environments. Therefore, we will not discuss the role of Labour and Employment Lawyers in Labour Unions.

  1. Real Estate Lawyers

Real Estate Lawyers are the Advocates who deal in Real Estate. It can be selling, buying or even Rental matters. When a property is purchased then, an initial agreement is signed with Real Estate Broker, then Sales Purchase Agreements are signed with Real Estate Developer, and the documentation is also required in Land Department. Even documentation is also required in Rental Agreements. These Real Estate Lawyers do manage all the Real Estate Documentation as well.

  1. Family Lawyers

Family Lawyers are for personal cases and related matters. For Example, marriage registrations, divorce cases, child custody, alimony, the distribution of joint assets, documentation, etc. Even the KULLA and amicable divorce is also managed by these Advocates.
